Deep Roots

Phil Payne founded National Parts in 1977 to supply auto parts to businesses and car enthusiasts in the Atlanta area. In 1995, he planted his roots in St. Croix where he expanded National Parts to meet the need for auto parts on the islands, including a second location on St. Thomas that opened in 2011. National Parts fostered a strong partnership with DHL, providing customers with express service at exceptional prices.

As the partnership with DHL grew and National Parts developed added partnerships with other transportation companies, the company expanded its full-service logistical capabilities to provide a wide range of parts, supplies and non-perishable goods for businesses and individuals.

In 2017, when the islands received a one-two punch from Hurricanes Maria and Irma, the company began shipping necessities like lumber, tarps, batteries, water, generators, pet food and so much more. These natural disasters were an underlying reason why National Parts decided to rebrand in 2021 and is now Island Parts & Supplies.

Island Parts & Supplies says exactly what the company does. Island Parts & Supplies provides the same execeptional customer service, high-quality products and the fastest and most cost-efficient shipping to the Caribbean, but with a clearer and more recognizable identity.

In April 2021, Island Parts & Supplies held a contest to give its lizard mascot a name. The winning name came from island-dweller Patrick Beuttler who was inspired to shorten the company name by using initials. IPSY, short for Island Parts & Supplies, Yes!, is now a beloved member of the team. You’ll find him on the website, on social media, in advertising and even in the stores.
